Next stop was the stadium for the 1896 Olympic games. This was the site of the first modern olympic games. when the Olympics were held in Athens in 2004, this is where the Marathon ended and the archery competition was held. We returned to the ship, well ready for dinner and next day we went to Kos, and it rained. Dave was booked on a cycle ride which they cancelled. But I still went on the bus tour of the island to all the archaeological sites. Aren’t I lucky to have a spell check on this computer………… I wouldn’t even begin to be able to spell archaeological!!!

Oh, I must mention that I did my first aerobics class ...

It is a nice campsite in that the facilities are clean and tidy and there are washing machines and the pitches are mostly flat which is our main requirement for a decent nights sleep....it is hard to sleep on some of the "camber" pitches that we come across. I guess the downside is that it is actually located on an eight lane busy road which hums all night and all day! The campsite is full of orange and olive trees, all fully ...

... Museum so I figured two birds, one stone. Except I got lost again, exited the wrong gate and ended up back at the Panathenic stadium. Couple more happy snaps and then the long walk back to the Acropolis. It didn't take long before I decided to gamble on the Public transport system again. One tram, one bus & a train later I was where I wanted to be...walking may have been easier

The museum was awesome. Lots of statues ...

... day we woke up in Turkish waters at Kusadasi. We disembarked and went on a guided tour to Ancient Ephesus which consisted of a very large site of really well preserved Roman ruins, the second oldest library building in the world (apart from Alexandria) and amazing terraced houses, still decorated with mosaic tiles and frescoes. Stray kittens followed you everywhere at Ephesus, and the guide said she often brings cat food to feed them.

Next we were driven to a tourist ...
