... Mass was quite the experience and we were so glad to be a part of it. We then changed clothes and walked over to a chair lift to ride to the top of a small mountain, Mason braved the lone ride to the top, which was great because we would have missed out on so much fun if someone hadn't rode alone! Thank goodness for last March's ski lessons!! It was instant smiles at the top!! There were slides, a zip line, playscapes and animals!! The kids fed the goats almost ...

Today was quite a day! We struggled getting Madelyn and Mason to bed last night (not until midnight!), so woke up groggy, stiff from the hard mattress and with a scratchy throat (me). The church bell tower not only rang out the time, but also the hymn of "Immaculate Mary"; a nice way to wake up. I arrived at the stop for midday ish, checked in, and then decided to take a drive back to the centre to gather ...

Note from Val: Today we took a guided tour into the mountains east of the town of Obergurgl (up the Gaisbergferner glacier valley) to search for garnets. We were well equipped for the task, with our hammer and chisel borrowed from our hotel. Our guide, Monika, was very knowledgeable about the area, and once she showed us what to look for we were able to spot and collect quite a few nice garnet samples. For ...

... their elevations. We even got a bit of sun up there, and were able to catch a glimpse of the Dolomite Alps in the distance (where we'll be soon). We enjoyed our bakerai kaiser sandwich lunch up there, which we had purchased in town in the morning. On our way down we encountered a herd of sheep, who seemed to find Bob very interesting and followed him for quite a long way (I tried to stay off to the side). We were back ...
