Băile Herculane, Caraş-Severin, Romania rouademunte... the roads are much better and the people are as well frıendlier, but much less can speak English or another language.<br><br>The stretch just before Kazanlak was then a beautiful road that led the way up to 1600 m. Through a thick forest with lots of curves we ended at the top. Here the memories of some communist archıtecture was present. Kind of ımpressive but as well not very appealing<br><br>
Pitesti, Romania silo... we bump noses or go back and forth on the cheek. It was really funny. I won’t forget that. <br><br>I think I have inspired at least one person to be in AIESEC and become a trainer in a different country and make a difference. She came up to me with her googly eyes and wanted to know how I got this position as a trainer in Romania. I told her that it’s through AIESEC and that I had to apply to almost 30 + traineeships until Romania answered. I didn’t ...
Pitesti, Romania queenytheluYesterday was Global Village and it was very impressive. The kids in summer school along with the people in AIESEC Pitesti worked really hard to represent their country. Global Village is an event where there are different tables that have information of a country and people are standing there to tell you something interesting or show you something interesting about a country. In this case, there were food, decorations, costumes, and dances. It was organized at a big mall ...
Pitesti, Romania queenythelu... feet or a new company started! I don't know. I HAVE HOT WATER!<br><br> I was walking to get a Kebab and I ran into my roommate with my other roommate. She told me that she had the best hot shower. I screamed in joy on the street. (Yea, I was a bit excited and in a good mood.) I celebrated and it is such a good feeling. Today was a really hot day and right now I am sitting in the lobby, writing my blog ...
Pitesti, Romania queenythelu... that they run and jump into the pool. <br><br>Ouch. <br><br>It really looks like it hurts to run at full speed and doing a body slam into the pool...naked. <br><br>Other than seeing weird naked girls jumping into the pool and holding their brother's hand...I like the pool.<br><br>I have two more trainings left of my Traineeship!! How time goes by so fast. I am not ready to leave yet. I just got settled in. =(<br><br>From Romania,<br><br>Queeny Lu<br>
Pitesti, Romania queenythelu... of town, including our hotel restaurant. Craiova Centre has some beautiful buildings and squares. They were holding the Romanian Music Awards in the main square which was pretty deafening so we found a restaurant down the road a bit and after some effort, and the need to drag in an English speaking wedding guest, we ordered a typical Romanian meal, Escalop Zingala, Pork with a spicy sauce and bacon.
Craiova, Romania souterOn our way to Belgrade we made an overnight stop in Craiova in order to cut the distance in half. Craiova is the last major city before leaving Romania to the west. It rained all day and the drive was rather ugly, as is Craiova itself, a very industrial and grey city. You can see Cecescu's influence everywhere. Surprisingly enough, we had ...
Craiova, Romania elgeneralo... Sure, much of the center has been thoroughly redeveloped into gigantic tenement blocks and the remaining, historic administrative buildings look a little beleaguered and isolated. But the sense of hopeless menace that pervades much of Târgu Jiu doesn't really exist here. While the old urban fabric has been irrevocably damaged, at least effort was made to have the modern buildings conform to the same scale and some sort of logical form. And for once ...
Craiova, Romania xerius... in their school, each with a bouquet of wild flowers for us. The people in the villages were very glad to see us and happy to speak with us (or should I say play charades) since we do not share a language! As ridiculous as we must look with our limbs flailing about, we always seem to get our points across. Well... we think so anyway! The visit was a great opportunity for us to see the work World Vision has been doing ...
