... of the American guys if he'd been to the shop yet to buy alcohol. "What?", He answered, "whats a shop?". I couldn't believe my ears. He didn't know what a shop was and English was his native and only language. Esther and I found this rather hilarious and educated him on this new and obscure word. ... darting off again. Some of the feeders had rests that allowed them to stop and just look around. There was a huge variety of hummingbirds too, of different colours and sizes.

We walked back down the hill through Monteverde village to Santa Elena. It was only about 5km and had nice views of the mountains and down towards the Nicoya Peninsula on the coast.
