    ... amazing pizzeria was followed by alpine mini-golf (yours truly emerging victorious. Of course.) before a chilled night in the cabin. Which led us to Sunday 28th, and check out ahead of the 6 and a half hour drive to the Florida panhandle. I write this from the beach there so the next thing you hear from us will most likely involve a lot of sunburn!! Love you all, will see you soon (but not too soon!) ...

    ... some hiking, and lots of sleep! I drove here in a rainstorm which was the perfect entry. Again, this California girl can't get enough water from the sky.     It's amazing how much a difference music makes while hiking. The first day, I didn't listen to anything because I was going to do at least one day of "pure" hiking. The second day was rainy and so short that I didn't bother, and I couldn't find my ear buds on the third. After I found them on my hammock, I turned on some music before a big climb on the fourth day, and wow. It was crazy how much more energy and stamina it seemed that I had.     ... was both a great hike and pretty punishing. The day dawned clear and nice, which made for nice hiking, but it did get warmer, especially on the most challenging part: Blood Mountain. It was the steepest and highest section of trail so far, and it was decently challenging, especially with a pack.
