... From there we watched the second races of the GP2 and GP3 series, then the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The afternoon brought the preparation of the F1 race which consisted of the current drivers parading the circuit in a traditional Austrian wagon, followed by past drivers such as Niki Lauda and Nelson Piquet racing in their original cars, and finally an air display by the Flying Bulls. It was then race time! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the race ...

... I am in love! 72 restaurants deliver JUST TO THIS NEIGHBORHOOD! I had fun figuring out what pizza to order using my German to English translator...avoided artichokes and pineapple pizza!! The food came promptly and was delicious. We ate pizza and watched the race, getting the English commentary on my iPad. I read a novel and at 7pm, we ordered takeout again! This time pasta and salads and desserts. Hopefully this respite will help Jerry's leg for rest of trip!! Note: got laundry done ...

Gradually more and more drivers came flooding in and all I could do was stand there with the biggest grin on my face, I just turned into such a fan girl! But I cannot explain how much this meant to me, I have been watching F1 for as long as I can remember so to be stood only a matter of metres away from my heroes was ...

... loved them in Australia but didn't make the connection it was in German! ) and then headed to our seats in Sud West. Very decent seats with a good view of the pits, start and much of the track. Absolutely gorgeous setting in the mountains. We watched practice and then the rain came and stayed on and off for a few hours. We got plastic tarps and just huddled under the umbrella and watched the various events. Finally when qualifying started at 2 it tapered ...

    Easy day in Graz

... this fascinating but I'm not sure Sophie shared my same enthusiasm! By late evening we were both getting pretty hungry so we went to the first restaurant we came across and had the best meal I think we have yet. Both of us had pork cutlet and it really was delicious. Back at the hotel I thought I'd best give Sophie a quick lesson on who's who in the F1 so she's not sat at the racing over the next couple of days like a complete and utter ...
