After leaving Asheville we werent really sure where we were heading next to spend the memorial long weekend. We had seen enough of cities for the time being and wanted to head somewhere we could relax and do some kayaking. We decided on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee Georgia and luckily there was one room left at the Lodge.

Had a great tourist-y day yesterday. Went into Chattanooga and walked around the riverfront. Saw start of Trail of Tears, new Aquarium, rental bikes, lyrics and rails in sidewalk, etc downtown. ... creek. We got to Lower Double Culvert Branch Falls almost immediately and got a few pictures and then crossed the stream and continued up. The hike up to Upper Double Culvert Branch Falls was a bit more tricky. There was almost no trail to follow and the banks of the creek were very steep.
