We arrived here at Yonah Mountain on Sunday 9/22 The trip up was nice and the roads werent bad. When we arrived the campground Hosts (Bill and Norma) met us at the front and took us in a golf cart to pick out a site. This is another awesome campground. Well maintained and very nicely laid out. We learned a new game from Bob, Norma and ed and Diane called marbles. Uses cards ...
Got up at 7am, and on the road at 830am for Helen, Georgia. A little overcast this morning, but it cleared up nicely!
Gorgeous on Rt 19 in the Nantahala Forest Region; riding by the river and watching folks floating down on tubes.
136 miles down, and my shoulders were killing me from all the fun curves. I need a lighter bike....oh wait! I HAVE a lighter bike! I would love to ride the Ducati around down here.

Hitting the 400 toll booth without dropping the quarters was the final touch to a wonderful trip.
And now, at 2:12 in the morning of 3 August, I'm tired and have remembered all I can.

The last winery of our trip we could have skipped, though, ironically, we did purchase a bottle of wine there to go with some cayenne chocolates Roy had bought the night before. It was there that Patty and I discovered a bottle of Dog Vine Buddy's Reserve, thinking of our son Casey and his dog, but the wine was not for sale.

... Winery. A beautiful place. Very mountain-lodge-like. We lucked out and were able to get a table for lunch -- and out on their covered veranda, too. The view was storybook. Patty had a shrimp salad; I, a shrimp po-boy. The food was excellent; the wine enjoyable. The wine tasting was impressive. The dessert sampler was phenomenal -- a caramel cheesecake, a lemon chiffon pie, and a brownie, as I recall. The wines we paired with them and with a cheese sampler (?) drank well, and ...
