After Trier, we headed to Cologne to see the cathedral. Cologne is a big city and we had a heck of time finding the parking and then lugging our stuff into the hotel--a little stressful :). Once we got settled, we headed straight to the cathedral. It's a bit like the grand canyon in that you can't appreciate just how big it is until you experience in person. After working out how to purchase a train ticket at the machine I boarded the train for a 25 min journey, eventually I arrived at the HBF ...

Another day of checking out the city, some shopping (stupid thing to do when you have such limited space) and chillin in the sun. In the evening we had dinner at "Braurei zum Schiffchen" - really nice local brewery. After that we had a few beers and went to a bar where we hung out and had schnaps with some girls from the city and listened to Nena. Of course we listened to ...

... We took another regional train to Duesseldorf at 3:30. In the train station, we decided to stop for Dunkin' Donuts. I asked (on a whim) if they had anything vegan (no milk or egg) and they looked at me like I was crazy and said it was all vegan. They told me the ingredients and I was so happy. I got a powdered strawberry filled donut and the group set off for the old city, except for Colleen who went to meet a friend for a barbeque.
