Existential crisis averted; I then had to get a shuffle on to reach my final vaccination appointment at 10.50 in Crewe. I made it (just) and then had to do a few things in Crewe, including see some friends at my old work.
... And so it came to pass that it was 2.30 when Adam set off up the motorway, heading for the penultimate UK destination in this: the prologue of his great adventure
... dinner last Saturday - it was fantastic! And to say to my mum - can't wait for our second christmas dinner this Sunday - woohoo!
Very excited at the moment about going on our adventure - but going to miss all our fantastic friends and family!

It's taken me 4 weeks to get the timing and money right, but today I've booked the majority of the tickets, and I have a shortlist of accommodation.
It's weird how it's all coming together now, it still feels like booking a holiday....but it's slowly starting to sink in that this is a 1000 mile house move ...

2) Store or dispose of everything that I have been carting around in the car.
3) Sell the Car.
The end of this process is a watershed moment - from that point on it will be just me, my bike, and the belongings that I propose to carry on the bike... until the end of the journey. (duh duh duhhhh!)

... Robin remembers doing the same with mom and still can't grasp why anyone would collect tiny cottages :) We had fish and chips for dinner and they were very good! We had a good visit and Ali and I started talking about having a cousin reunion somewhere/sometime. Robin was jealous when we thought Canada would be best and that he was not included!
Lichfield, England, United Kingdom dfurler... join the EU next year this is not likely to change. During the next two hours I work alongside Rob in a two man job as we pack the finished displays into cardboard cartons about the size of a small washing machine. Rob is a likeable character with a constant mischievous grin across his face, and is cracking jokes about everything and anything. Rob is born and bred here in Ripley, has never lived anywhere else, and has just said "G'day Mate" to me for what seems like the tenth ...
