... t an easy task because in China they don't have a clue that something like Western breakfast exists so they usually serve noodles, rice, meat, vegetable...everything with a lot of fat and covered with nasty gravies. In any case it's always a nice experience to see different eating habits. After 30 minutes we sadly ended up in McDonalds where they still kept a few breakfast sandwiches...not the best food but at least we filled up our stomachs for a while.

After leaving our guesthouse we took a bus to another spot in the park where we could walk around. Where we got off the bus, there was a McDonalds. It was a huge McDonalds but wonders never cease, they had no bathrooms. I always thought you could at least rely on McDonalds for good bathrooms but not at this one. Today was spent in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. This was one of the places I was most looking forward to on this trip. Nevertheless, although the scenery was spectacular, the pushing and shoving through the thousands and thousands of tourists was not. The pathways were also all stone and steps were made of stone and cement so the hiking was easy except again for the thousands of stairs. We met our guide at the hostel in the morning before heading out to catch a cable car to Tianmen mountain. We ate breakfast along the way from street vendors - Tina has been pointing out all of the things that I must eat, and so far it has all been delicious.

... they had brought along their washing to hang on the bushes at the side of the paths! We arrived back at our hotel to find the wedding party had finished their lunch and the staff were packing up. They had a beautiful day for their celebration. We explored the hotel a little - trying to find the chess room but no luck.
