... long winding staircase to the summit (although it was great to see that view again).

Our Canadian friends were right, we had missed a huge section of the mountain with even more incredible views which of course we stopped at every spot for 20 minutes each, to take a billion and one pictures. It did provoke a thought in my mind though. When tourists (ourselves included) stop to take pictures of incredible sights, do we take the time to stop and simply look ...

... areas have no regard for the beauty, simply throwing their rubbish here there and everywhere. Not to be too stereotypical, but its something I've noticed about all Chinese people that I've come across so far. It's a shame that such incredible landscapes aren't looked after more and are instead mined for their tourism.

After a 3 hour bus journey back down the mountain into Zhangjiajie (which felt more like 20 minutes due to the scenery and eratic driving), we were back in ...

... If they have no fare they will toot the horn to get your attention. So we were checking out which ones were just cruising around to get any fare (and wasting their petrol!) and which ones were regularly working! We decided to wander back along the other side of the river this time and saw a couple of stone masons amongst some flat stones that we realised were head stones, just on the side of the road. Lots of three wheel cars, trucks and converted motorbikes passing ...
