        Good location. Poor quality.

The bathroom was shared between 3 bedrooms. Thin walls. Quite a few bugs in the bathroom. Had to haul our luggage up a flight of stairs. Oh, and the shuttle bus to the airport that is advertised only holds 6 people, meaning it was fully booked by the time we checked in! On the plus side, it only took us 40 minutes on the free bus outside to get to terminal 4.

I don't know if you can call the Heathrow Lodge a hotel... but it provided somewhere to sleep only 40 minutes from Terminal 4 and allowed us to get to the airport super early. Unfortunately this wouldn't turn out to be our only 5am start.

Our flight was delayed by 3 and a half hours but luckily we got chatting to a lovely couple and shared stories, laughs and a few coffees.

Greenwich was interesting - beautiful grounds. Tom explored the National Maritime Museum but found it a little underwhelming. The Queen's House turned out to be an art gallery. So Tom walked up the hill to the Royal Observatory to Greenwich Meantime. We had to give the planned Docklands ...
