... York is quite flat and we seemed to be able to see all of England from up there; including what one would consider the new cathedrals of England, huge power stations (at least 3) visible on the distant horizon. Check out the pics.
We our day was rounded off with a late lunch in a posh Italian(?) restaurant housed in a colonnaded Romanesque building. We ate pizza because we didn't want to afford anything else...but enjoyed the cool ambience.
Well we said our farewells to Marcio, our host in Salvador and began our long journey home.
We both had mixed feelings, we would have been more than happy to carry on travelling for a little more and certainly did'nt feel like going back to a normal life/job however, all good things come to an end and we were very grateful for what we had seen and achieved.
