... vehicle about 3 hours north just off our route so we called them, to see if they could fix us. Yes, except the windshield...so we headed that way and, en route called our insurance people to seek their help with the windshield. They were great! It won't cost us anything and we can get it fixed in Rochester, MN where we will be for about a week or so. The service place fixed our other problems plus put on the ...

We protested right alongside the NAACP in Durand, MS, targeting a school, which although legally segregated on the face of it, divided students into college tract (the white students) and work tract (the black population). It was here that I first "met" the KKK as they drove up and down the streets whistling Dixie and waving their sheets in the wind. Prior to leaving for the protest, we were ...

The only issue was that the ideal certification course began on March 29th. Between the program fees, certification costs, Visas, documents, and airfare, I would need to come up with over $4,000 to cover it all, not to mention spending money for ...

... highways. No such luck. Next stop was Guttenberg which turns out to be quite a little tourist town on the river at a lock. Found a quaint motel in an old list building right on the river. Reasonably priced room, even free wifi.

Had dinner at a nearby cafe also overlooking the river. I tried cat fish and Wes had a smoked Iowa chop. Watched a boat push 12 barges down the river. Barges are tied together.
