Had a nice swim in Lake Michigan near Chicago, huge lake can’t see the other side, there were large sand dunes and a small wave. Apparently a hippie in a combi does surf tours on the lake, but it just didn’t feel like the sea. Hils and I had several theories why not. ... think we'll go looking for another. It turned out to be much higher in calories than we expected, and didn't fill us up that much.

After the runza, we went into the Cabela's across the street. We must have spent another 90 min or so just wandering through Cabela's. That was a nice stop; we bought a present or two for family, but I'm not telling who!

Today we left the St. Louis area and drove to Kansas City. We wanted to have a good Kansas City strip for lunch, but we didn't know where to try, and we really wanted one near the museum we were seeing there. So we tried something new. I called the museum while we were still 90 minutes away ...

... already have a reservation and he's like oh well in that case nevermind. Taxi drivers get kickbacks if they take you to a buddy hotel. But he wasn't pushy. He told us that the area we were going was very, very "solo". Alone. By itself, nothing much there.

... have to haul up a 6% grade either. I also still have to lock into a RV policy. I have recently learned that having a rider on your automobile policy is not in your best interest. Most of what can happen to a RV is not covered or they barely pay out and you are left with a huge loss. I really don't care if we stay one more night anyway but, Scott would like to get going so who knows.
