    So we cycled to Omaha from Brayton, IA, which was about 115km (70 miles). We stayed at Ali's place that she shares with her roommates. Her boyfriend Scott showed us around town and had a great time!

    ... today, they have become a community of small businesses and single families. A tinge of sadness can be heard as they tell their story.

    Oh, and Amana Refrigeration passed through many hands, but today is run by Whirlpool.

    We drove down US 6 in this lovely valley through Grinnell, home of Grinnell College, but opted to hit the interstate. We settled down for the night west of Omaha. Tomorrow: Colorado bound, with a few stops on the way.

    July 12, 2015 (LC westbound equivalent June 29 to July 26, 1804)

    From the Kansas River entrance at Kansas City to where Council Bluffs is now was a rough section of the Missouri River for LC. Strong currents and high water made for a very treacherous and difficult pull for the Corps. I simply drove along in one day what took them nearly a month.

    ... Our seats though together were against the back wall. I bought a foam pillow and it helped tremendously.

    Of course I woke up about every hour to some freaky turbulence. Checking our flight path which would cycle through our scary location over ocean and time remaining to landing.

    Oh and I didn't mention that Nick woke up with a cold, aches, and runny nose. So I wore a face mask on the planes!
