Hawthorn Suites Ltd. - Little Rock

... last ride thru because my motel is 5 mi south of I-40. The motel seems to have little on the city itself so I will peruse my guide book and see what else is noteworthy besides the Clinton Library. I got all excited that there was a barbecue place beside the motel, until I realized it was abandoned.

... but I just didn't feel like doing that. Whenever I stayed in one place for more than a few days I got restless: I think I need friends and/or some more stability, like having my own place and being able to unpack and have my own room, to stay in one place for any longer amount of time, which I just wouldn't have while traveling.

So I'm back, and I hope this experience has changed me for the better. I plan on trying ...

... this morning) had breakfast, swam, ate lunch and had a skype conversation with mum and dad (which blew away the waitress) then headed here to Amarillo (Do you know the way to Amarillo?) that was for all my British blog followers. Ok we are still here in the pool, the girls have made friends with two girls all the way from Runcorn, England (can you believe it, what are the odds of that) I bet they know the way to Amarillo!!!!!

... even did a little singing for our car, about heading east bound, the song was a little out dated but we forgive them anyways. Their coaching skills make-up for it. I guess American Idol is out of the question..sorry! Parents we definately already MISS you!!!! I promise everyone is doing great and are a blast to have with us. ... our predetermined stop at North Little
Rock. As we were driving, we got a wonderful surprise when we realized
we were now in the central time zone and had gained an hour! So we
arrived at the hotel around 8 pm (CST) and the kids headed straight to
the indoor pool. They swam for about an hour before we got hot showers
and got in bed. We have a room with 2 queen beds and the kids chose to
sleep together in one bed.

I hope everyone enjoys this misadventure with my Dad and myself. We will give updates and pictures as we go along. The official time of departure will be Friday? We r only 2 WEEKS behind, but should be for a good trip. Well will talk to u on the 12th

Drove to the capitol of Little Rock and saw the statues about civil rights.
Drove home to our hotel .Big help the car's GPS.
Had dinner at Waffle;s House near the hotel.It is a chain restaurants all over the south.Had waffles and pecan pie.

It was 4:30 and so we hustled over to Sun Records for a tour before they closed at 6pm. We made it in time, and saw the recording studio that Elvis used repeatedly in the early 1950s.
