... several small towns along the way. Every house and business is on stilts. This includes the schools, post office, and stores. Drove through Abbeville which was a really cool town. Shrimp and crawfish restaurants everywhere. Finally made it to Cypress Bayou Hotel and Casino where we have one night comped. The room is beautiful. Tomorrow on to New Orleans via Morgan ...
We had meant to spend the night at a National park but the drive was too long and the weather was yucky so we pulled into a Truck Stop before it got dark. ... of Pelicans, twisty (yes you heard that) roads... Wonderful... Getting into Lafayette for lunchtime and straight to The Blue Dog Cafe. I was in Blue Dog heaven, all the art, t-shirts, mugs, books and you know what, absolutely superb food, best of the trip so far!
Decided to stay virtually next door at La Quinta so we could see Lafayette, an art gallery doing a retrospective and come and eat here again in the evening - I was made up!
