    We didn't make a ton of progress on the map yesterday, but did a lot. I took the Mini in to get the oil changed and purchased some roof rack crossbars so we could go to REI and get a cargo box. It remains debatable whether we needed it or not, but it looks awesome!! A quick stop at the Mall Of America, lunch at an Italian place, Tucci Benucch, (I needed some lasagna!) Off we go!     ... and left. I tried not to run in my vacation too much. One guy asked me what I was going to bring him from Peru. I told him I'd get him a llama. He got excited until someone told him I was joking. Apparently, he thought I was serious. I made it to my eye doc appointment on time (barely). The doc confirmed that I have a bacterial infection in my eye, and gave me antibiotic eye drops to take for ...

    ... country (so peaceful!), but of course, being Sunday, it was closed up tight. It looked really pretty, though. On the way back, we stopped to take pictures of a pretty stream going under a bridge, and made friends with a GIGANTIC horse. He was very photogenic, and posed for us nicely.

    Then, onward to the outlet mall, and had some fun shopping. Finally, onward to home sweet home!

    ... back. Always vigilantly scanning the horizon for possible storm centers.

    As Sraddha said in previous, the interstates really make it easy to make some distance which is what we are doing right now.

    We pass huge grain elevators which store soybeans and corn, horse ranches, forests and cross over the occasional high point in the whole area, a freeway ...

    And, so it begins!
