Woke up early and started my day off with breakfast downstairs! I met a couple from California who live on a farm and grow oranges and pistachio nuts! We had a good chat and they invited me to come stay on their farm if I ever get to California again! They even gave me a bag of pistachio nuts for my travels from around their area - how nice! So today I decided to go visit Lincoln park zoo! Had my coffee at Red June and then walked down to the bus stop and caught the bus to the zoo. ...

It meant how many days on the road for us. Out early again to make the most of our last few hours. We hit the city again and went our separate ways. One of us went to the Chicago Institute of Art, one of us went the the Sale in Macy's and then chilled in Millennium Park with a hot dog and the other squeezed a little more value out of the bus tour ticket. Guess who did what? The bus ...

Thursday 29th August We were up by 5am and in the smoke filled air from Reno to Chicago by 7 30. Victoria came to the airport with us as she was flying to Las Vegas to join Ron for a wedding. It was sad to say goodbye to her especially for Pauline since their friendship goes back over 25 years but promises were made to meet up again soon. Arrived in Chicago airport hotel at 2.30pm (Chicago time which was 2 hours ahead of Reno time) Dumped our bags and got a taxi into ...
