Crystal managed to lose her phone last night, after searching the 'Find my phone' website, we'd tracked it down to a housing estate on the edge of a town. Crystal had also been able to track it's movements since she lost it, tracking the taxi drivers journeys for the rest of the night. Drove to Grand Rapids leaving wet, cloudy Chicago. Stopped at Lake Michigan, one of the biggest fresh water lakes in the world; on the way, a very prosperous area with expensive beach houses having hidden Ferraris in their garages'. A final thought, or rather final thoughts after I've been stateside for nearly a week. So, it has been a little hard to adjust to my "normal" life. I started school and work full force. When I woke up on Monday I was saddened to realize I didn't get to look out the window and see a glorious Kenyan view. Even worse, I didn't get to see the students I've come to love so much. ... which is the important thing. Unusual for this type of motel (in our experience on this trip) is that the very reasonable room rate included breakfast and they had a nice large room with tables just for this purpose. The breakfast options included make-it-yourself waffles, which was a nice addition to the "cold" options. (There were no other hot options -- for example, meat or eggs -- though.) All in all, a very pleasant motel. We would stay there again.
