I had a fabulous time, the girl at Sheldrake who was pouring our wine was so friendly and insisted on letting us try a couple more wines than we’d actually paid for, which I thought was great! Turned out we got the same treatment at the Thirsty Owl too.

Cable guy due between 1 and 3 today so not made too many plans, naturally he turned up at 11am while I was in the shower. Happily he had stuff to do that didn't involve access to the bathroom until after I’d finished. Came back and made a proper American sandwich with 3 layers of meat and 4 layers of cheese. All this took most of the day so we spent the evening watching DVD’s (Battlestar Galactica) and chilling out.

Very early start, quick cup of tea and shower then off to the airport. Check in and time for my last cup of tea in England and a croissant to share. A very brave goodbye with Kate and then off through security, complete with a last minute list of things to pick up in the airport shops (Kate is very good at organising me with lists!).

Arriving in Elmira, I checked into the hotel and went out for a drive around town. Its a sleepy little down, running along side the Chemung River. Both sides of the river are developed, and there are several bridges across the river.

First Night had dinner at Pudgies Pizza, greasy pizza and surprisingly good.
