We all went back to the room where I started talking to yet another American chick who I ended up spending the night ...

We are still in disbelieve that what went on here is recent history ending in 1979. We met the only 2 survivors of S21 and our tour guide, who had been evacuated during the Khmer Rouge regime also disclosed that she had lost 3 of her family members during this time. It was a sobering and eye opening experience and we left feeling sombre.

... to say I didn't feel particularly threatened, how much of that comes from being used to South London where violence and crime is a problem I don't know? Yes of course as soon as you walk out on the strip its a little seedy, but only taxi guys constantly asking if you want drugs or boom boom. It was by no means as intimidating as a Friday night out in Croydon where just sometimes people get attacked, occasionally stabbed, glassed or even shot dead. Admitadly I spent ...
