... again they took you through the city and out in the country, but locked you in the bus for 5-6 hours or more.

Just off the pier we found another city tour like we had taken in Barcelona, The City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off bus tour. With the double decker buses and audio through complimentary headphones, we got a first class tour at less than half the price of an excursion.

... It was amazing! We went almost to the very top, but the gondola up to the very top was closed due to high winds. And boy it was windy! The bus stopped several times where we could get off and walk around to see the volcanic rock. It was declared a UNESCO world heritage site and Spain’s highest point above sea level. The last volcanic eruption was in 1909 from the El Chinyero vent, which we saw!
