... really soon after I sat on the bike. Despite daylight should have been still "on", the dark clouds turned the day into night. That's not what you want, the fact I did not have light, made me a bit nervous. strawberries…that is until today. It
only took a few minutes for 3 of us to fill 2 large containers full of the huge
sweet berries while Heidi kept snapping pictures.
Dory, the parents of our group joined us all for a bar-be-que. Tom cooked hamburgers, Marianne made a tasty
salad, and the beer and wine flowed.
Dessert was of course the berries and some chocolate bars ...
... in a Glacier Museum, and had a beer beside the oldest bridge in Europe - Kapellbruke Bridge. It was one of the best days of the visit.
Well fed, and rested we are now prepared for the last parts of our journey in Paris and London - due to a few Eurail complications we were unable to make it to Barcelona, but this just meant we were able to spend more time with the Family and in lovely Paris.
We decided to explore a new city and picked Bern for our day trip. Bern is the capital of Switzerland. We got off the station and started our walk through the old town. ... into Bern I took out the small Google Map I had printed off and tried to find my hostel. I soon became quite lost. Luckily for me however there is really only one Youth Hostel in town and there were tons of signs pointing the way. The location of the hostel was absolutely brilliant. The city of Bern is situated at a point in the Aare where the river bends to make a U shape. Bern therefore looks almost like a peninsula jutting into the river. The old city sits at the top ...
