It turns out that the bear is the mascot for Bern and visiting dignitaries (like the Russian president a few years ago) sometimes gift the city another. ... in a Glacier Museum, and had a beer beside the oldest bridge in Europe - Kapellbruke Bridge. It was one of the best days of the visit.
Well fed, and rested we are now prepared for the last parts of our journey in Paris and London - due to a few Eurail complications we were unable to make it to Barcelona, but this just meant we were able to spend more time with the Family and in lovely Paris.

Sadly, the views from our drive in the mountains were not as stunning as they should have been as the weather was, yet again, overcast, but it did give me the chance to experience the height at which they live as there were sheer drops at the edge of the roads!
