... really soon after I sat on the bike. Despite daylight should have been still "on", the dark clouds turned the day into night. That's not what you want, the fact I did not have light, made me a bit nervous. Arriving back in Bern, wet as wet can be, I stomped my shoes with newspaper to dry, took a shower and as mentioned, woke up when the "Skype " rang.

... sting of the snow. It's funny as hell watch as they howl in pain in front of the girls they are trying to impress, who are only laughing because it's so stupid, it's funny. Sleep totally eluded me last night due to the whole "I'm sleeping in the same room as a woman who manages to be louder than a saw mill" situation. ... to show me 'the bears' - but at first I thought he meant 'beers' and was a little confused! It turns out that the bear is the mascot for Bern and visiting dignitaries (like the Russian president a few years ago) sometimes gift the city another. There is an enclosure for then by the river, right in the middle of town, and it's quite crazy to be walking across a city bridge and look down to see ...

... in a Glacier Museum, and had a beer beside the oldest bridge in Europe - Kapellbruke Bridge. It was one of the best days of the visit.

Well fed, and rested we are now prepared for the last parts of our journey in Paris and London - due to a few Eurail complications we were unable to make it to Barcelona, but this just meant we were able to spend more time with the Family and in lovely Paris.

... easy to see who was a beekeeper, a woodsman or a baker! Sadly, the views from our drive in the mountains were not as stunning as they should have been as the weather was, yet again, overcast, but it did give me the chance to experience the height at which they live as there were sheer drops at the edge of the roads!

We then drove to Bern and walked around the streets to experience it properly! Neil was a very good tour guide, ...
