    Munich - Day 3

... raining by this stage. Instead of taking the path we had taken up, we came down by the bitumen road the busses take. Even though it was raining it was still a pleasant walk through the forest (and I had my raincoat & umbrella) Its the kind of country that trekkers would love. I think my sister Chris would love riding her horses through here. I made it back to the village with enough time for a hot chocolate and a breather, before the long ride back to Munich. Tomorrow - ...

I wake up the morning after Germany wins the World Cup long before Grant. He is still in a beer coma next to me. I upload the photos from the previous day onto the iPad, charge the phones & camera. I finish the Lauterbrunnen blog entries & email them to you good people while the wifi is working. Grant is not ready to make a move until 10am, suffering a little from one to many beer steins. He meets me down stairs for the all you can eat ...

... and green, with many beautiful lakes and picturesque towns. It took about 2 hours to get to Neuschwanstein (NOYSH-wan-steen). We
took a shuttle bus up to a bridge across a gorge with a perfect view of the castle. Everyone took a bunch of pictures, then walked down a few minutes to the castle courtyard. It’s quite the controlled chaos: hundreds of people each day tour the castle, especially on a sunny Saturday. ...

Yesterday we had another lovely day on a self guided tour round Rome. We arrived in Rome about 9.30 and walked all around the sights we missed last week! So lucky to get two fabulous days in the city. Eleven days later since last visit spring has arrived in Rome. The trees are green and the blossom and flowers are out in the gardens. My revisit to the Trevi fountain and the Vatican were quite different to 35 years ago! I need to look at my photos ...

    Geneva to Munich 589k

A travel blog entry by jan-pete-cycle on Sep 20, 2013

... the train, we're definitely in Germany! Eventually got on at 20.56, so we'd had actually an hour to wait, it seemed a long wait in the cold after a month of sun. Arrived at Pasing at 22.04, Peter had wanted to cycle from there but Greg said too far especially at night just get the train to Aubing, we arrived around 10.30 - Greg came to carry a bike up the stairs & couldn't believe how's heavy it was! At last at their house with plenty of time for a few beers before a nice comfy ...
