... town of Hallstatt on the other side of the lake, is NOT free. It only costs €2.50 each, one way, but I'd read in a few places that it was part of the train fare. As you can see from the photo, there was a lot of cloud and it was raining. But pretty awesome all the same!

Unfortunately, there was no Tourist Information near where the ferry docked. And the shops don't have awnings like in Australia. There were a lot of wet people milling ...

  • The different countries are more like the states. We were driving through them and didn't even know which country we were in because there are no signs and no real borders to cross. Every square cm is so organized, even men, the men wearing their leather pants and funny little hats are immaculate.

At this point we sat down, saw a patch of blue, waited, got up and returned it the cable car. We did not even attempt ...

... Geoff now did not have to walk the 30 mins ) The sun started to come out and we could see blue sky, by the time we got off the mountains were revealed. We sat in the sun for ages outside our hotel, it was quiet warm. Across from us was a swimming pontoon and this young girl jumped in the water. You knew it was cold as she let out a yelp and climbed out very quickly. Others went but they too only got in and out quickly, but they could say they had been swimming in ...
