... in the surrounding gardens conceived by Markus Sittikus, a man with a wicked sense of humour. He designed a series of practical jokes to pull on his guests - I can just imagine what they must've thought as they got soaked by hidden water fountains at an outdoor dining table or while walking under a carving of a deer head. You can't tour the fountains without getting wet - luckily we only got a bit damp thanks to the tour ...
... The food was truly Norwegian-style with plenty of fish and vegetables. The least successful dish paired scallops & corned beef - not my favorite, a little too outside the box putting seafood & meat together. The most successful was a tie between the carrots with smoked cheese & pumpkin ice cream with camomile cream. The atmosphere was truly memorable and the service was impeccable
... raindrops were in the air. To round off our strudel snacks and warm ourselves up, we got ourselves some teas, coffees and hot chocs.
During this break, we also browsed through a souvenir store. We overheard the store owner say that in this quaint little town, the only people they see is tourists. Other than that, there's nothing else here. Makes you wish you could do more for these lovely people.

... back to our hotel and change. It was really, really hot and it was time to put on some shorts.
After the quick change, we walked back to the Festival Halls and Toscanini Hof, which is the courtyard where Her Zeller got out of the car, went through two huge iron doors and confronted Max and the children demanding to know where the Captain was. The iron doors were magnificent and literally dwarf anyone who stands near them.
Now things had been going pretty smoothly up ...
