We have just come back from a lovely trip up to Lake Konigssee, and a boat trip down the lake to St Bartholoma. The lake is nestled between the mountains, and is 602m above sea level with an average depth of 150m. It is the cleanest lake in Germany, with the water being pure enough to be classified ...

... of Salzburg . Truth be told it's a great idea if someone checks the opening times of such places. We got off the bus at the wrong stop, walked the 1km up the Alps to the gorge to discover it was in fact closed. But really how many times can we say we hiked in the Alps?... and if it's ...

Today, we went on a road trip to Salzburg from Bavaria. I got to see a lot of Sound of Music locations, which my cousins were thrilled about. Today was the first time in a few days we did something blog worthy. We also saw some houses of Mozart. I learned how to make good Apfel Strudel as well. Lastly, we went to Hellbrunn Palace. It was used as a summer day palace. There were these trick fountains where water would spray out of random places and surprise ...

... and had seen both Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, one after the other. We chose this time to focus on Hohenschwangau, for we had liked it because it was smaller and more intimate, more livable, and last time we saw it second, when we were stair- and castle-weary. Rolinka was sweet and got us tickets for Hohenschwangau while she got the rest of the tickets--we had just planned to buy them ourselves. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing this castle again, and ...
