After an excellent breakfast with a view over the village countryside we headed off towards Lubeck arriving after an easy motorway drive at 2pm. With the assistance of our SatNav, Heidi, we found our next hotel in the suburbs of the city. Another small local hotel providing the real German experience. We have spent the afternoon relaxing ...

On Tuesday, we left Hamburg and drove to Malchow, via a medieval town, Schwerin, which had a huge castle. It was the former residence of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg. After that we resigned ourselves to not finding ...

... one: there's no big book shop in Wismar meaning, no English books. Problem two; the library asks €1,25 for thirty minutes of wifi. I find this ridiculous and decide I can do another day without Internet. I end up exploring Wismar and when I'm finished, I'm heading on to the route to Rostock, the direction I'll be going tomorrow. I'm still in Wismar. There's one more reason why I should be taking it easy. Two years ago, ...

    A day off

A travel blog entry by dutchnomad on Jul 26, 2015

... I've also decided today that I'll be taking it easy for a whole week. I'll hitchhike more, stay maybe more nights in one place and overall do everything a little bit slower. I turn quite some pages the rest of the day and drink coffee whenever I feel like it. A proper ...
