Zadar, Zadarska, Croatia matti5d... stared at me like I had dropped down from Mars when I showed him a Euro coin. I even jingled the coin with some others to indicate it was money that I wanted to use in exchange for the service he was supposed to be offering.

Pisa as with most of Western Europe uses the honor system where people board and then validate the ticket in a time stamp machine. Maybe one in a million times the police surprise everyone with a random check and I was just ...

Zadar, Croatia rampantredhead... les gourmands il y a de quoi faire, avec une moyenne d'un glacier toutes les 3 boutiques. Zadar, Croatia artoftravel... prepared. As for the Middle East book, I realized a few things. One, getting visas to both Syria and Iran will be tough. Two, I will need hard currency to get through Iran as the country does not accept credit cards, travellers cheques or have ATMs linked up to the international network. Three, Turkey will be challenging to see as it is a huge country and all the places that interest me are not close together. I am glad I was able to get my hands on this book as it ...
Pag, Croatia dinovagabond... between two different worlds :). Maybe I can create my own group and solicit members along the way. But I have to admit seeing all these young people have fun was actually a breath of fresh air for me. It was nice to feel some energy. I suddenly was questioning whether I should leave the next day. Staying on the young side of the beach may be a good idea. It may allow me to meet other travellers. I decided that I would make my decision tomorrow ...
Pag, Croatia dinovagabond... up only spending 3 hours at the beach. The whole time I was thinking about the Middle East. I was starting to get excited about this part of my trip. All this time spent on islands and beaches is nice but it is not why I took a year away from my family and from my job. I dont regret spending time in Europe. In fact, I think it was a smart move to come to Slovenia and Croatia because I dont think I could have handled going to the Middle East right ...
Pag, Island of Pag, Croatia dinovagabond... pretty large mountains. Some still have snow in the valleys. The mountains pretty much spill into the ocean near Zadar. The view from Zadar(pics coming in a day or two) is awesome. From Borik you can see the ocean with the mountains in the background. Another aspect of the trip was the evidence of the Serbian conflict(1991-1995). After leaving Plitsvice the scars of war became quickly evident. Many house still bear damage from gunshots and bombs. A number of houses ...
Zadar, Croatia chuckh... through the Croation Islands. We visited two of the larger ones, Korccula and Hvar. It was in Korcula that we done more than just swim and lie in the sun, we decided to hire a kayak and go rowing. So about 20 meters into the water we began our first spin, which was followed by another, and than 1 hour later we still hadn't worked it out so we done a few more spins. I'm not joking ...
