... up towards St. Euphemia church, at the top of the hill on this small peninsula. Every now and then you can peek out and see an alley that leads to the sea where a boat can park. It rained the first night we arrived but we didn't mind. It was the sea.

A bit cooler and rainy this morning. Our last full day in this lovely town. We checked out the fishing fleet again when it arrived - mainly sardines and a few octopus. The guys work so hard taking the fish from huge vats and putting them in boxes, filling the boxes with ice and loading them into trucks. Apparently the fish are all trucked off to Italy for sale as Croatia only has a population of 4.1 million and Italy has 67 ...

... I can only imagine what it’s like on the larger “mainstream” tours with 60-80 people.

After dinner it was a quiet 30 minute ride back to Motovun, where Peter took us right to the spot where the city bus usually drops passengers. We made the tiring hike up the hill and finally back to the hotel (where I got a coffee to take to my room).

Overall, it was a very interesting (albeit long and tiring) day.

... Germany, but here the road is winding between the hills and rocks which are being washed by the sea. There are more bikers then cars, it is a road to heaven on two wheels.
We were heading towards Lovran on road 66 heading North-East from Pula. We stayed in Lovran for the night in a Hotel overlooking the sea. Here everything is overlooking the sea.
