... water. The boats on the lake are all electric to preserve the cleanliness and peacefulness of the area. At one point on the trip the guide gets his trumpet out, and plays a tune next to the cliffside called the Echowand, and depending on the weather the notes echo one or two times - all very funky ...

Once near the centre, we walked along a string of market stalls along the river. Utterly authentic Austrian items such as African carvings, Union Jack tshirts and even Yorkshire Tea metal plaques!! We stopped for some Thai spring rolls on the go which were reassuringly expensive yet delish! A small boy came ...

... and Canadians in Munich is a bit of a surprise. After chatting it seems very few of them venture into Eastern Europe. They're big on travelling, but I'm not sure they have the same extended "OE" aspect to their culture that we do in New Zealand and Aussie.

I'm also glad I made this stop off in Salzburg. This place is pretty. One of my triumphs in life was actually sitting down some 13 years ago and watching The Sound of Music in it's entirety. All four hours of it. ...
