... want to do and our budget.

We book into a lovely quiet apartment overlooking meadows of wildflowers in the town of Ribcev Laz for 3 nights. Our first day is spent on a walk of 4 hour circumnavigating the lake which includes a enchanting forest walk. There has been an astonishing amount of work to make paths and boardwalks along most of the way so ...

... picturesque. Turquoise water surrounded by pine trees, with an island at one end with a small church, a castle on a bluff at the other end with another church with a spire. All ringed by Alps some of which still have remnants of snow. It really is a picture postcard, and the hotel has some stunning viewpoints, including from the 5th floor swimming pool, if only I had remembered our togs! After unpacking we cross the road to the lakeside ...
