Todat we had breakfast at 8am and following breakfast we had a guided walking tour of Passau.
The tour started at 9:45am which included a walking tour of this historic town.
Passau is known as "The City of Three Rivers". It lies at the Inn, Danube and Ils rivers. It is the last major German city on the Danube at the border of Austria.

... U dwau Maryi" or the 2 Mary's meals & 2 beers for €16, down the river front.

Watched several people in canoes go down this river, there was a type of weir at edge & several people fell out, walked up to the castle stopping at the old draw bridge as it is now a home for a few brown bears & one came out to play, the village is on 2 banks of the river, streets are narrow & cobbled, lovely to see.

... that we could hit sand and at worst, might not be able to proceed beyond that point to Passau. In a worst case scenario, we would have to disembark and complete the rest of the journey to Budapest by bus, staying overnight in hotels. Drat! The best outcome would be docking the boat before the shallow section, sending us off on our daily excursion and while we were out, The Captain would do his best to get the ship to Passau. ...

... br> I must say though that there were many rotund people. If we stayed longer we would probably continue on our journey to join them. We ate out a lot, often tempted by the schnitzel but usually managing to resist the torte.

... High and by the end of the day, the students were wearing their US shirts!! After the classroom visits we met with the principals of KuMax, Maria Ward and Cleveland High School! It was lovely! We discussed formal things about the GAPP exchange and had some coffee and cake. The evening was spent at a student performance at Maria Ward Realschule. The play was about the life of Maria Ward - she originally came from England. As a catholic nun she sought out to educate the ...
