... this, I couldn't remember the name of one of the main buildings that we first saw on our tour. Reviewing my photos, as luck would have it, I noticed that the place where the picture is taken shows right on top of the photo. I guess I'd turned on location permission for photos when I left. Aren't I a smart little traveller. Leopoldskroner Weiher is the beautiful setting for part of the filming of the movie. We went back to Hellbrun Palace (but I didn't go to the ...

... the market - enjoying not only the stalls of everything one could possibly imagine: sausages, cheeses, wicker art baskets, brooms, finely embroidered linens... Not only was there incredible variety - but the sheer size of the market (blocks it seemed) was daunting. Also, the colours were so enjoyable. ... again. After walking into my first big square, Mozart Platz I think, I felt my whole body breathe deeply and metaphorically slow down. I'm on holiday! The sound of multiple animated languages around me served to illustrate just how many others were seemingly doing the same thing as me. Last night I arrived in Salzburg and was welcomed by the most gracious host, Maria. Her and her sister share the flat and love having visitors. It's very nice and quite large with all the necessities amenities. Maria allowed me to use the kitchen to make some dinner and we ate together while she talked, a lot, lol. It was nice though to speak English and hang out with another girl close to my age. I collapsed into bed a little too late and slept ...

... Salzburg and excited to get there, 1) because it's apparently a beautiful city and 2) because it means we are one step closer to OKTOBERFEST. We arrived at 2pm and checked into our hostel, sharing a 4 bed mixed dorm with some nice Australian girls we had met in Grunau. Unfortunately the weather was still the same as it had been for the last week, rain, rain and more rain, so we weren't too enthused to get out exploring. We waited for a bit of a gap in the weather then headed for a quick ...
