      Visiting the Piedmont region was a first for us. Fall was definitely in the air, and very few grapes were still hanging on the ubiquitous vines. The vines were beautiful colors of green, yellow, orange and red, depending on their location and the type of grape produced.

      ... a lovely castle and church. While it is a very small town it does have international concerts there each July in the town square. Next year it's Mark Knoffler. For lunch we drove into Alba, a town 35000, which is hosting the Alba White Truffle Festival. There were lots of people in town with many stalls with truffles as well as fruit, vegetables and meats.
