ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilmanI know I always write the same...great weather, such a nice city, good food....but I have to say that Nice was a (very) big surprise for me, I can say that it is my favourite city in Europe (ok, number 2 after Lisbon). You have the mountains, the Cote dŽAzur (when you see the water you know why the name is Cote dŽAzur), the market with fresh vegetables, fruits, honey, oil, soap, you have great restaurants ...
Nice, Provence, France tilman... gesture. We can't change the world but we can change the way these children start off in life and who knows where that will lead....
It is less than 4 weeks now until I leave. There is much to do. I am trying to prepare myself for "teaching" 20 - 25 children. A bit of a challenge that. Much as I have known that I have always wanted to do something like this, now that it ...
... hand lounge chairs. Thus we have to be pretty organised - everything has a home and has to go back there as soon as you've finished with it. This also means that every takes a long time... so our alarm goes off at 6,30am. This gives us 30 min to awake from our sleepy haze then coffee and breakfast 1/2 hr. Then make the bed into table and chairs. Change into running gear and run round the current place of abode. Shower and dress... even if we did everything with military ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74... while she tries things on. Dani even splashed out on some gor-ge-ous black boots, on sale mais oui, they are so pretty, she wants to name them! As she decided to be smart and send them home rather than ruining them, she gave them a quick kiss goodbye and can't wait to return to her new European wardrobe. She's totally building a little winter collection for 2010 and beyond! Very excited to go somewhere, have someone compliment her and say 'oh thanks, but I got it in France!'.

The car will be trucked back to Germany, then placed on a boat to California, and eventually trucked to Schomp BMW to our friend Len Birnbaum. Arriving in 6 to 8 weeks.
BTW, John forgot to mention this in his euro car blog.. so, Dawn will brag a bit: the Europeans loved our blue BMW coupe. You just don't see this model very often over here, as a majority of the cars are usually black, grey or silver, and ...

... with this lovely Mediterranean town along the Cote d' Azur. Mardi Gras will come one day early this year and to our surprise the once peaceful and tranquil Place Messina has been transformed into some uber-technopop grandstand site. C-R-A-Z-Y! Before the tune up of the sound system later that night (captured on our day video journal) Teresa was able to enjoy a nice bagel and salmon in the park area among the fountains. For ...
Nice, Provence, France bruinz... here last night and found the hotel that we booked just that morning. It was located by the train station near several sex shops with neon signs (note - planning ahead does pay off sometimes). After grabbing a quick dinner at the market across the street, we headed towards the beach and the center of town (Old Nice) where we grabbed a few drinks at a place called Chez Wayne's (we really know how to immerse ourselves in the local culture). Despite ...
Nice, Provence, France meg926... Saint Exupery, a culture packed hostel, with tall stained glass windows, quaint paintings in hidden corridors, pebble filled driveway and a breakfast room the size of a tennis court. A little overwhelming considering the fact our room in 3 Ducks hostel Paris would have easily fit into the bathroom here. There was hope for backpackers. After a sumptuous breakfast, we decided to gather information on how to get to Monaco and Cannes, the two ...
