Settling into a daily routine

A travel blog entry by cynthiana.diane

... or stretching I've been enjoying the simple things circus life has to offer.

We celebrated a birthday this week. Jeremy (our top catcher) and Harmony (his wife, and one of the female flyers) have two daughters. Tatum (2 years old....VERY MUCH 2 years old), and Cameron, who is now four (equally cute and very sweet). It was a festive occasion, well attended by most of the females in the circus, and all of the children. There were games, ...

How to eat like the Japanese

So as it turns out, my next adventure has been one of learning to feed myself healthy and tasty meals.

It was a gentle slope for quite a while but I knew when the true climb began as the road turned steep in rapid fashion. I encountered a funny sign on the way to the climb which advertised the name of what must be a love hotel. To those who are not aware of ...

Spider Lilies

A travel blog entry by gadelle

One thing I love about Japan is how seriously flowers are taken. No matter the time of year, there's bound to be something blooming, somewhere, and if you keep an eye out at train stations, you're sure to see posters advertising some local flower festival or other.

I don't think I'd ever seen spider lilies (曼珠沙華, or manjushage in Japanese) before coming to Japan, and the first time I ...
