I always find it an interesting experience when I grow my facial hair. For the second time in my life I have found myself "cultivating" a beard of sorts (having had a rebillious and somewhat scraggly teenage goatee in my early University days).

This time it has grown more from circumstance and laziness then design - the result of frenetic travel days merged into the lethargy of days relaxing on boats and ...

... madness, generally resulting in a bemused crowd standing around us, then taking photos and then imitating the moves so we felt we left our little mark on the local populace! Turkish dance, for men and women, seems to revolve around a mixture of Bollywood and Daniel O'Donnell in his prime so we couldnt have done much damage to be fair.
Have to say that this was probably the highlight of the Turkey trip although Olimpos itself was a very close second....

It was a bit of a challenge to get up (and down) but the view was so amazing. We were trying to prop the camera on a rock to get a picture of the three of us when two girls in their early 20's climbed up. ... that seep from the earth and rocks that cause them to occur.. its really quite amazing and I really should have thought about bringing the marshmallows! Bizarre sight... We settled by one of the bigger flames with the 2 bottles one wine that we had bought up - didn't take long to drink them and it was hard to get off our butts and make the trek back down - so warm and cozy and peaceful up there... !
