... the culture's very different to anything I've lived in before and the people are just so nice. My problem with Istanbul was just that everything revolved around the tourists. In Rome, the only time you'll see people dressed up trying to take you on tours is at the Colosseum. In Vienna, you'll see people dressed up as Mozart next to the Hofberg, St. Stephan's Dom and Opera House, but they make no noise and just stand there with leaflets.

Antalya ended up being a brief stint, and although the city was very pretty (particularly the old part), we didn't get up to a whole lot. It was more of a go between to break the journey between Pumukkale and Cappadocia apart.

... We stumbled up Mt Olympos under the shroud of darkness. Slipping and sliding, the path seemed to stretch on forever until we finally caught glimpse of an orange aura on the horizon. ... to rain, this being the first time since we’d been here in Turkey! Otherwise, we had fantastic sunny days so far! Oh well…..can’t have everything but at least, our boat ride wasn’t cancelled! By now it was only 4:00pm and we still had the rest of the day at our leisure! Plus guess what? A huge Shopping Mall was a mere 15 minute walk from our hotel!
