After the bus ride from Konya to Anatalya of about 5 hours, we waited at the junction for a minibus to Olympos, where we were to stay in a tree house. The place is just a short walk from the Roman ruins, and the Med. So, here we are, on ...
Olympos, Antalya Province, Turkey jathomazWe are in Olympos after finishing a 4 day boat cruise on the Mediterannean. We went with a company called V-Go Yachting and it was alright except our guide was totally awol for a good chunk of the trip, leaving us with the rest of the crew that hardly spoke any english. also, they managed to run out of beer on two separate days. we tried to bargain with the crew to buy out the entire ...

Olympos, Antalya, Turkey boatcrusieI always find it an interesting experience when I grow my facial hair. For the second time in my life I have found myself "cultivating" a beard of sorts (having had a rebillious and somewhat scraggly teenage goatee in my early University days).

This time it has grown more from circumstance and laziness then design - the result of frenetic travel days merged into the lethargy of days relaxing on boats and ...
Olympos, Antalya, Turkey chrishailstone... complaining (internal and external) with appreciation, and using yoga practices (asana, pranayama, mantra and affirmations) to tame and master my mind, the same one that has been running wild for most of life.
“The mind is like a drunk monkey”, said one of my earlier yoga teachers.
“The mind is like a drunk monkey stung by a scorpion”, said the Agama Swami, and I completely agree. The process of noticing the turnings of the mind and ...
Çıralı, Antalya Province, Turkey yorron... the wrong side of the road, or take buses. This was a good solution for both of us. They duly arrived around 9.30 and we set off to Paul's fateful words. "Did I tell you I don't have a car, and I don't drive much". Oh ****. I am sure we will be fine...you know it's better to trust and be disappointed from time to time rather than live ...
Cirali, Antalya, Turkey mikeandfi... found that they were bran cookies with raisins and plums. I give you three guesses what their purpose on the market was for! We all laughed, then decided a little fiber might not be a bad thing so for purely medicinal purposes we ate most of them. Trust me - it wasn't for the taste! We came back to our hotel and just as we were walking back in, Morganne slipped on the wet tiled walk way and fell ******* her elbow. I didn't actually see it ...
Cirali, Turkey turkeytrotters... fancy ones up on pillars with altars around them. At one point we followed the trail up to the top of a large hill/small mountain where you could overlook the beach. It was a bit of a challenge to get up (and down) but the view was so amazing. We were trying to prop the camera on a rock to get a picture of the three of us when two girls in their early 20's climbed up. The immediately offered to take the picture - and we instantly knew they ...
Cirali, Turkey turkeytrotters... that seep from the earth and rocks that cause them to occur.. its really quite amazing and I really should have thought about bringing the marshmallows! Bizarre sight... We settled by one of the bigger flames with the 2 bottles one wine that we had bought up - didn't take long to drink them and it was hard to get off our butts and make the trek back down - so warm and cozy and peaceful up there... !
