I didn't bother with a Maidens entry this time, as Charlottesville is close enough. We drove from home to the Amtrak station in Charlottesville, where we caught the Cardinal, a New York to Chicago train. This is an overnight, and we paid for a sleeper this time (you may recall that several years ago we did an overnight from Miami to Richmond sitting up in coach), which is expensive, but rather fun. You get your own little space, away from screaming babies and ...

... to run around. While driving through the town, we started talking about our former next door neighbor, Brady, and wondering if this was where he was living. He wraps cars for NASCAR and this was certainly a NASCAR town. We remembered he and his brother & sister-in-law, our neighbors, Wade & Robin, were driving back to the area from NY. We called them and found out in about an hours time we would be crossing paths. ...
