The variation to this is whether someone is coming "selamat dattang", long goodbye if you are going somewhere "selamat Tinggal" or if you are staying and someone else is going somewhere "selamat jalan". The word "jalan" means "to go on", but can be used to mean "walk", though this is usually "jalan-jalan".
