A few of us went tuna fishing on Tuesday afternoon with Carlos our local skipper from Garza the next village from Nosara.... We caught 15 fish! among them, white fin tuna, yellow fin tuna although the best of all was the 35lb Mahi Mahi that John caught... we had a $30 pot on the biggest fish. My Dad had the lead with a 25lb yellow fin tuna until John snagged the Mahi Mahi. At the end of 5 hours we ended up with at least 50lbs worth of fish fillets, most of which we left with Marlin Bill who...
Nosara, Costa Rica smylazarA group of 7 of us (Michael, Ann, Tricia, MaryAnne, Margaret, Trevor and Vanessa) booked a night trip to see the Olive Ridley sea turtles nest in Ostional (Down the road from Nosara). These particular sea turtles are known to nest in this region once a month specifically when the moon is at it's 3/4 phase. Twice out of the year, in the months of September and October, these turtles nest by the hundreds of thousands such that one is no longer able to count how many turtles arrive to nest or ...

... were looking slim so we decided to stop and refuel. A rather handsome barman fulfilled our needs with Tacos and Smoothies. After a bit of groundwork we discovered his parents owned the place and with our English charm we managed to negotiate a rather plush half price room for the night. Later on we snuggled down (unfortunately not with the barman) in our posh palace with some marshmallows, The Borne Supremacy on Sky and Fi in an extraordinarily high bunk bed.
... 5 hour car ride from the main airport. There is a flight a day from San Jose to Nosara as well on Sansa Air, but in most cases you have to stay over night in San Jose in order to catch it. So, depending on how many people, how much time you have, you can decide the best route to get here. I will help you with the schedule once you are serious about coming and have some dates in mind. It will be an adventure you won't forget.

... us all weekend. Right now he is out doing Kelly's laundry and filling our tank in the car. Anything I want, I just tell him, and he makes it happens. I have been told he is the man to know in this area. Earlier this morning he had taken me to get coffee and then to the bank and he said to me, "are you happy?" and I said, "oh yes, I am happy" He said, "as long as you are happy, I am happy" The place we are ...
Nosara, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica sunmoongoddess... like in NYC..if its raining you can't get a cab. Well we got to Dragonfly, which was a super nice restaurant, kind of asian fusion...very nice, food was excellent, presentation, drinks, it was what I like to say...it had ambience...ha...but we all had a great meal. Paid the bill and everyone pretty much left Raf, June, Christina, Candace and me behind...so we walked down to the main street..Raf is cursing everyone's name threatening to take everyone off his ...
Tamarindo, Costa Rica albert413... Lonely Planet guide. Here we unwound, walked the streets to see some of the churches and climbed to the top of the cathedral for panoramic views of the chain of volcanoes. We were stunned by the art museum: it had Picassos and other known painters, but the most fantastic pictures were by Central American artists. It started with the colonial period in the late 1600's and early 1700's, then moved forward in time. You could see the progression of styles and techniques, ending ...
Tamarindo, Costa Rica spocream... It wasn´t quite the D-Day that we imagined because it was only the beginning, but it was more than enough for Lisa and I! We walked and walked and watched a few more nest before a big storm made us head back to the hut to escape it´s fury. We fell asleep in each others arms warm and content that we had seen such a beautiful event as what we had witnessed. In the morning we awoke to the sunshine in the early morning and walked on the beach once more. The tide had ...
Ostional, Costa Rica glassman... tortuous for us both, particularly me and my need for organisation! Everyone was just hanging around inc the staff, no communication or plan. We signed in and were given numbers for some reason. Shuffled into a room to watch a video and be told about the park. Didn´t know that leatherback turtles (so called as no shell) were the largest in the world and could be up to about 5ft! Were glad to see them in the video as certainly weren´t ...
Playa Grande, Costa Rica emanddave... through Central America and into South America. We headed for the beach, where the clear sky revealed more stars than I'd ever seen before. The Milky Way was spectacular, a creamy splash of stars spread across the sky, and I pondered our small place in the galaxy before heading back. The next day was appropriately sedate for the beachy environment, and we spent the day enjoying seafood and beer on the beach. At sunset, we cruised down a nearly deserted stretch ...
