Sights of Vienna
Breakfast at 8am then walked to metro station stopping along the way to take a picture of the Votivkirche.
Caught metro to Rathaus station to see the Town Hall. Took a few photos despite a circus set up right in front of the town hall getting in the way of a good photo. Also took some pictures of the Hofburg Theatre over the road from the …
Euro Trip 2012 - Vienna - Arrival - Day 1
... hotel is opposite cute markets that sell fresh cheese and deli styled foods, and to my pleasure fresh seafood, we are also near two shopping streets, one similar to queen st mall but more old and vintage looking. It was in the queen st mall look-a-like that we stumbled across a very very nice little restaurant called Medusa. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone travelling, it was nothing too over the top but they made simple food taste ...

Great location, only a short pleasant walk from Inner Stradt or a few stops on the U-Bahn. Staff were very helpful and provided many excellent recommendations, except for the older man - probably time to wheel him off into the sunset. Room was spacious, comfy and a good sized bath.

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN Hotel Harmonie Vienna
Not a four star hotel
Good quality for a three star but definitely not a four star hotel. I think BA rate it as a 3.5 star.
Room was clean but a bit on the smallish side. Breakfast was adequate
No black out curtain in room and not sound proof so had trouble sleeping (am light sleeper anyhow) as could here traffic from nearby street. No A/C so room was a bit stuffy even when cold outside.
Lovely Hotel
This is a lovely hotel located in a quiet but central part of Vienna. The hotel has bright, comfortable, spacious rooms, very friendly and accomodating staff and a nice bar.
It is located near the tram, and is also within easy walking distance of the city centre.
The Maitre D' that we met when we were there was extremely helpful and accomodating.
Breakfast was typically continental with a small but nice selection of food.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to Vienna.
Excellent Location
I stayed in this hotel in early March, 2005.
The Harmonie is quite central, situated about ten minutes walk from the Votivkirche Cathedral.
The rooms are quite spacious and equipped with room safe and minibar. In my room, the toilet was seperate to the bathroom in a very small claustrophobic cubicle - the only way to use this facility was to reverse in - this led to some very interesting manoeuvring!
The Harmonie is officially categorised as a four star hotel, though in my opinion it is of a similar standard to that of a three star hotel in Ireland or the UK. The reason - No coffee shop, extremely cramped breakfast room, bar was not open during my stay, no "goodies" in bathroom, ugly visible pipes in bedrooms - all minor foibles, but still issues not expected of a four star standard hotel.
That said, I would highly recommend the Harmonie Hotel. All staff were very friendly and efficient and were able to respond to any queries and requests.
This hotel offers good value for money, in a convenient location.
Low key and quiet, best place to stay in Vienna
A comfortable and friendly hotel close to the tram route taking you into the inner stadt. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon mainly becasue it was reasonably priced. 4 years later when we could afford a higher rated hotel we went back becasue of the warm welcome, easy going environment and its close proximity to the tram routes. The hotel is actually in walking distance of the main tram line circuling the city. Forget the 5 star hotels with high priced restaurants - Vienna is full of other places to eat - stay at the Harmonie and call in on Dr Freud as you walk to the tram stop!
Excellent Value for a short break
We got a great web rate for this hotel (booked quite early, in Feb) for our visit 12th - 16th Aug and weren't disappointed.
Compared to some complimentary breakfasts we have experienced on the continent we didn't think this one was too bad (although I confess I didn't bother with the ham or cheese)! There were hard boiled eggs, several types of bread, of course - you could even make toast, fruit salad, yogurt, a couple of cereals and fresh fruit.
As this is quite an old building there was no air con and it was sweltering, but they did loan us a fan free of charge. Rooms were tidy and comfortable. This was one of the very few reasonably priced central hotels which offered a 'triple room'.
Very friendly staff and the location was excellent, the D tram stopping just around the corner which connected at the centre with all transport you would need.
If you're visiting in the next week or so be sure to visit the film festival at the Rathaus gardens (about 10-15 mins walk or straight there on the D) with very reasonably priced foods from all around the world in an excellent atmosphere. We think this is an annual summer event.
Nice hotel, but the breakfast is grim
Harmonie is on a quiet street, a comfortable walking distance from the main sights. The area is pleasant and safe, and there are a couple of good pubs nearby which serve great local food and beer. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant, but unless you enjoy dessicated ham and rubberised cheese...don't order breakfast at the hotel!
Excellent hotel
We stayed in this hotel for a week-end. We were very pleased with everything. The rooms were big and clean and the personal was friendly.
The hotel it-s also not too far away from the city centre. Before leaving, they allowed us the leave the luggage at the hotel, since our plane was only in the evening. They even lend us an umbrella, it was heavily raining outside. We will definitely come back to this hotel next time.
Comfortable
A comfortable hotel within walking distance to center. Convenient transportation - tram D to the Ring and subway. Large clean rooms.
Don't expect any charm there, though. Breakfast is so-so. Helpful staff, lots of tourist info.
Hotel Harmonie
Hotel was a bit far out for our liking, 10 minutes by taxi or metro from the Westbahnhof and a 5 minute trip on the metro from the city centre but we had three nights so it wasn't a major problem. The rooms were large enough and very comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. The reception area had more information in it about Vienna than the Tourist Information Centre and you could buy opera tickets and Vienna Cards directly from reception.
Comfortable
The room was large, clean and comfortable.People at the reception were kind.Breakfast was OK.The street is silent and near the centre. My wife and I have a good remember!
