... to check out and drive back to Vegas but instead we cancelled our reservation there for a few days and will be literally waiting out the storm until Sunday and leave from here then. According to the authorities it was safer to stay put.

During a break in the rain, we headed out for coffee at Koffi on East Palm Canyon Drive downtown and came upon a pod (also called a 'scoop') of pelicans and managed to capture them on video. Wow. The video on this entry says it all. Enjoy.

... open around 10am, but most not until 10.30, and some not until 12pm! We've been up since 6am. Where are the other people with children, and what are they doing? Dylan takes a shine to some multicoloured chairs outside a shop and he tells us which colour we are to sit on, then gives us a lesson about how the chairs are the same colours as the fruits on the sign. ... marijuana. That means lots of people either get it prescribed or know someone who does and bought it of them. There was tons flying around and is the smell that most reminds us of the weekend. Now AK and SJ are sensible people and would never normally partake in such activities as smoking green but as they say 'when in Rome....' this made AK very happy and SJ had fun taking the **** out of the faces he was pulling!
