Haringtons Hotel Bath

Very nice stay - Peter and Mellissa are Fab....!

My partner and I chose this hotel for a weekend break in February 2005 and found it most pleasant, Peter and Mellissa are the most delightful host we have ever met, nothing was to much trouble for them. Before we arrived I e-mailed the hotel for suggestions of where we could dine as it was a Saturday night and I wanted to book before we arrived, Mellissa was straight back to me with loads of suggestions of varying prices and locations, with web sites and telephone numbers to boot. Our room was very quaint and over looked the cobbled street in which the Hotel was located. The only thing I would say is this would not be a good place to stay if you had trouble with stairs as I believe all the rooms are not on the ground level and there are no lifts. Breakfast was a real treat, cooked and served in the most delightful way.

The best place to start the New Year

My partner and I stayed at Haringtons from the 30th December to 2nd January. The standard and cleanliness of the room was excellent and the ensuite facilities and toiletries were of the standard expected in a far more expensive hotel. The breakfast was gorgeous, and New Years morning breakfasts were served until 11am, so we didn't have to miss out after a late night!! All of the staff were friendly and welcoming, there was no problem gaining access to the hotel after the bar closed at midnight. The location couldn't have been better, a lovely & friendly local pub directly across the road, an excellent Indian restaurant 30 seconds around the corner. And many other restaurants, bars and shops all within a very short walking distance.

All in all an excellent hotel in a LOVELY & SAFE area of Bath, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bath.

Fantastic hotel exceeded expectations

My husband and I stayed at Harringtons from 15th to 20th November, 2004. We wanted to go somewhere that was close enough to London but where we could feel like we were a million miles away. We arrived to a fabulous Irish welcome from the proprietor Peter O'Sullivan and his partner Melissa. My parents were Irish so that was a good start. We have stayed at alot of hotels from cosy B & B's to 5 star hotels and had various welcomes from a grunt to a bark. It was so cold when we arrived the owner Peter made us two of the nicest Irish coffees we have ever tasted. This was a good start.

Breakfast was fabulous. Lots of variety and plenty of healthy stuff too, which I was fond of.

You have to ask for the Carrot cake at afternoon tea which is made by Melissa's mother which is only mouth watering....I was lucky enough to get the recipe.

The hotel is only a minutes stroll from the main shopping street, so we were able to pop back with our bags every few hours. It is in a very quaint and safe part of town so I don't know what the previous review was referring to about it being unsafe....

We came back a few nights after 12 o'clock and there was always some one on duty.

The car park is right next to the hotel also.

Our room was always clean with fresh towels. I could not find fault if I tried.

The price was great value as we had a ball and will defintly go back to Harrington's in Bath .....probably for the sales in January.

If you do visit this little treasure trove tell Peter and Melissa that Patricia and Alan from Chiswick in London will be back....

Ignore the good reviews..they must have stayed somewhere else

We booked into this 'hotel' based on the good reviews but realised our mistake straight away.

The room (£118/night) had a stained carpet,peeling paint,dirty bathroom,old

curtains and was generally small and not .worth £18/night let alone the £118 they

were asking.My wife said she felt like crying at the thought of spending two nights

there and I had to agree..so we didn't.

Other bad points include the car park being a 5 minute walk from the hotel and the hotel closing at 2300 with no night porter.

The hotel is central but this is in the not so nice part of town and feels very claustrophobic.

Overall very unimpressed.

Exceeded expectations

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. The room was confortable and the hotel itself is spotless, in a fabulous location with a great staff.

Perfect position

Harington's Hotel was the perfect place to be whisked away for a birthday treat.

Situated down a quiet cobbled street it is literally 100yrds from the main shopping areas and restaurants. The staff were friendly and the breakfasts fresh and cooked to order.

The rooms are bright and well furnished. I would definately rstay again.

Charming and convenient

Attentive and friendly staff. They were kind enough to fix up a room for me a few hours before check-in so I could sleep off my jet lag.

Small, cozy hotel located on a very quiet cobblestone street. Excellent food and service. Convenient to everything in Bath. Health & beauty spa right next door. Counting the days till I return!

Very Nice for the Price

Very friendly place with good rooms and a great location. Good value.

Great fry breakfast of a morning. You'll have to climb stairs here to get to your room. If I go back to Bath, I'll stay here again, no question.

Super Hotel

We loved our short 3 night stay at Harington's Hotel. The rooms were nicely decorated and the front desk staff was very helpful. It's within walking distance to everything and the rooms are a good price. Just make sure you plan your time so you don't miss their English breakfast (included in your rate), we only made it to one. It's definitely a place I'd recommend and I can't wait to visit Bath again.
