Today started off a little rocky! We had to get up early to catch a bus to the airport to then get to Liverpool. We got to the airport and went to check in at Ryan air. We didn't have any boarding passes and just thought "no big deal, we will just get them there." boy was that the biggest mistake, for not printing a boarding pass online, there is a …

A Hard Day's Night (x4) in Liverpool!

A travel blog entry by snemzer

OK, so now for the Liverpool report, which is partially why I came to England in the first place! I'm feeling OK this morning, a little achy but nothing major yet. On Friday morning, Dawn and I left her home in Grays (east of London) for Liverpool. We arrived at the Fenchurch Street station, and got on the underground at Tower Hill to go to London …

Chester

A travel blog entry by jayton

On Friday we had a thrilling time going to the laundrette to do the washing and a trip to the local shops. After that we had a walk through a local park. Nice and sunny but cold.

Saturday we went to Chester. We had been there last time but this time had a long walk along the river and then onto the wall. Saw a boat going through the locks onto the canal. The man was controlling the ...

Ellesmere

A travel blog entry by jayton

Back down the motorway on Thursday to Ellesmere Port where the Waterways museum is. I guess you have to like boats, especially narrow boats, to enjoy a day out here. Just like yeaterday the weather was kind n the morning, but by 3.30 it was getting dark and cold.

still, we had a good look around the museum and spent about three hours there. Lots of things to see and in summer there are boat trips up the canal.

A good day out.

    rooms were amazing.

    well worth a visit

Great stay, fantastic new hotel, brilliant bath products!!

    from BrownieManchester

I dont usually write reviews about hotels, but the Hard Days Night really left a great impression!

The room was modern, great bed! What I did find outstanding was the original bath products - I have never seen such products in any hotels which I have stayed in!! They were so unique and their smell was extraordinary. We had a bath truffle (I think thats what it is called!!), it dissolved in the bath and the whole bath was covered in rose petals - perfectly romantic for our Valentine's Day! Great idea - thanks the Hard Days Night!!

    Will definately be staying again.

PS. I have found out that the bath products are from The Soapy Story. I have already ordered some for myself!

Great Hotel but some fine polishing needed

    from jg34

We stayed at this hotel for one night on the 23rd Feb.

Fantastic Hotel and great vibe as soon as you walk in - decor is stunning. Check in was a bit chaotic and the rooms weren't ready - some rooms weren't even ready at 5pm so they need to speed up that side of it.

Rooms are a good size and nicely decorated - but silly things let it down - the mini bar wasn't stocked, some of the lights did not work, there was no information in the room about the hotel - there is one tiny mirror on the desk and then a mirror by the door - but the lights don't work by the door so for a girl putting her make up on it is not ideal!! Plug sockets are not located well either.

the Music on the TV system is a good idea but you manage to play one song from a CD adn then it goes back to Hard Days Night - every time - can begin to drive you a bit insane.

The Bar Four is very nice but I think they need to try to bring in some kind of dress code for it as such or stop non residents coming in for a drink - quite a few very drunk men in football scarves and jeans weaving about and leering.

Once they sort out these few issues it will be sensational - fantastic location and fantastic decor just needs a bit of fine tuning

    Neuf et propre

    from Roberto9

C'est un nouvel hôtel qui a tout le confort moderne. Son seul défaut c'est qu'il est assez bruyant, vu qu'il se trouve dans un quartier étudiant.

    It's new and clean

A good hotel with all mod cons. the only down side is that it is quite noisy being in a studenty area

    Quel hôtel !

    from EvieLiverpool

    What a hotel

    from EvieLiverpool

we visited hotel on 9th feb 2008, it really does have the WOW factor! just what Liverpool needs a decent hotel, the staff all very friendly nothing was too much trouble, we ate in Blakes food excellent, and service great, room state of the art, what more can i say, worth a stay, we live in Liverpool but wanted to go for the experience as my husband is a Beatles fan, we will be visiting again, it made me proud to come from Liverpool, it was a long time comming but worth the wait.

    L'éclate !

    from inaweoftheclaw

    Had a ball !!

    from inaweoftheclaw

Excellent in every way. We stayed for two nights on the day the hotel opened. It is very obvious that alot of time has been spent in training the staff as they were all top class, well presented and friendly.

The rooms are big and very comfortable, the restaurant served us a great steak and the bar was buzzing the whole weekend with people coming in the check the hotel out.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay and definately will be back.

    WOW!

    from Timleon

What a place. After reading so much about the hotel we had high expectations for our stay on its opening night - it was FANTASTIC. An amazing atmosphere as you walking into the hotel's lobby, friendly staff were ready to give us the key, and escourt us to our deluxe room which we just couldn't fault. Top quality fixtures and fittings and even an electronic do not disturb sign by the bed! I'm well travelled but this is something I have never seen before. We had dinner in Blakes restaurant which was wonderful, delicious food and perfect service - I kept forgetting where i was. We then had drinks in Haris bar in the basement which such a unique drinking space and lovely cocktails. Then we were treated to a Beatles tribute band, then finished off the night in bar four on the ground level which was definitly the place to be seen in. Waitresses - you are hot! Breakfast the following morning again we couldn't fault, and the staff in reception helped us to arrange a private beatles tour which just rounded off our weekend. Thank you hard days night, we love the hotel and can't wait to come back. Liverpool you should be proud!
