Lumut, Perak, Malaysia kownnisa... amazing) and five or six more mad flat-out circuits of the island (an absolute scream) we pulled up at a beautiful stretch of beach on the north-west coast. It was stunning, completely void of people, and for that moment it was ours. Without hesitation we did a quick 3-2-1 and ran 100-metres style straight into the sea for a mad splash and a cool off. It's so natural to think ...
Pulau Pangkor, Perak, Malaysia scottwoz... I might add), to get to the beautiful waterfall you see as the "front cover" of this travelogue! That was.. hard.. slipped up a fair amount, and everyone got many leeches, so by the end of it we were all covered in blood, looking battered and bruised! The waterfall was beautiful, but.. I just wonder; Was it really worth it? Otherwise there's not terribly much to say about these few days, it ...
Kuala Kangsar, Malaysia brypi... around Little India and surrendered ourselves to a lady armed with nothing but a reel of cotton which she very skilfully used to shape our eyebrows-painful but effective! We took a trip on a bumboat down the river (we never found out what the name meant). We found a huge Buddhist temple and enjoyed some delicious vegetarian food. We even went on a night safari, which was a highly sanitized zoo but interesting all the same. Singaporeans ...
Penang, Malaysia pinkfizz... at the same time Malaysia closes the Perhentians. So we make our way along the west coast and call by Pulau Pangkor for a few days beach time in what is promised to be emerald green waters and golden sands. Well, the waters were a deep green and the sand was a glimmering yellow and it could have been a great ...
Pulau Pangkor, Malaysia benandcallyI shelled out for a taxi to the airport this morning given we needed to elave at 5am! The guest house I'd booked waas very swish and perfectly located for all the things that remind me of home - Boots, McDonalds, Starbucks etc. So I had to divulge in a McChicken sandwich out of sheer need to feel normal again and it was total bliss (not that I am big on McD normally I promise!)! Food was followed by more shopping (I don't want to break the roll and ...
Penang, Malaysia tiggerbird... off the bus at the wrong place and started walking, luckily a guy asked where I was going after about 2 mins, and I made it back in time, before the bus had left. In lumut, was a short 2 min walk to the jetty, and there was competition between the voices of the 3 ferry company women to sell, I picked the one in the middle. The ferry ride brought back a few memories of the isle of wight, and was nice to pull into the town of pangkor to ...
