Tractors and semis

Mackinac Island
... only 500 full time residents. Most of the seasonal employees live in large dorm like buildings. They have 1 doctor and 3 vets so you know who they want to take care of....I guess that is due to the fact that cars are outlawed. Back around 1899 they brought horseless carriages to the island but they scared the horses too much so they said no more. There are 3 motorized vehicles on the island....fire engine, ...

... was a BIG weekend for tractors, Semi-cab trucks and motorcycles. They meet here and on the St. Ignace's side of the bridge. Friday morning the tractors drive over the bridge northbound and on Saturday the semi's. ... saw lighthouses and gorgeous country. 8/26 Baraga State Park - at the end of our full day of history touring and then on our way to Ontario, Canada. 8/28 was Hiawatha National Forest camp ... now doesn't that sound like Michigan!!!!

“Excellent hotel”

A very nice and reasonable place to stay in beautiful Saint Igance. A big spread out facility that had both an indoor and outdoor pool or you could swim in Lake Huron. They also had a fire pit going at night so you could make s'mores that they provided.
