We stayed in a Club Floor Harbour View Suite over new years. The view and room where very nice but there was something lacking in the service and facilities. For example I recently stayed in a room in Hong Kong for $59 which is 10% of what I payed in Harbour Plaza which had complimentary WIFI, whereas I would have to pay over $100HKD for WIFI in my $600 room. They name something as complimentary but are hesitant to provide it. The bell boy service was near zero and the check in took too long. The only time I was pleased with the hotel was when I look out my window to the spectacular view of the Harbour.

Historical Traveler Reviews Harbour Plaza Hong Kong
Wonderful hotel! Huge rooms by hong kong standards!
Stayed here for three days in November for a quick vacation. I got a harbour view room that wasnt just a normal room at all. The bathroom was huge, the room was huge for HK standards!!! Service was good, the restaurants were good. Stayed at the outdoor resto most of the time watching the harbour view from my table while enjoying the cool November breeze. They had a beautiful pool, though twas too cold when I was there.
It was so refreshing to stay at a hotel in this environment! Excellent views, none of the harrassing tailors in the street, safe and quiet neighborhood.
Okay, its far from TST center or Central, but yes it is easily accesible by taxi, ferry, and shuttle bus.
It also introduced me to Whampoa, with all those good restaurants and QUIET shopping centers!!!
Unlike staying along nathan road, pace is really slowed down here. Relaxing!
Smart hotel, good location, great rooftop pool
My family spent 7 nights at the Harbour Plaza starting on the 24th July 2005. We had two non-smoking rooms on the 8th floor with good views over the harbour.
The rooms were well furnished and clean. We had requested adjoining rooms but were given rooms a few doors apart, not ideal with children, but it turned out ok as we could use the room phones to call each other.
The hotel was kept very smart and the staff were always very helpful. We had breakfast and Sunday lunch in the main restaurant and found the food to be of a good quality and well presented, albeit slightly pricey.
We found the location to be great, right next to the Hung Hom ferry and the Whampoa shopping area, which was modern and easy to navigate. Transport to the busy Kowloon shops and Hong Kong Island was very simple and the hotel courtesy bus was very useful. I can also recommend the Hong Kong Octopus card which is simple and effective.
The roof top pool was great and the views were terrific. I would certainly recommend this hotel for business and holiday trips.
Fabulous location...
All the staff were obviously well trained in customer service, and spoke beautiful english. I always had the feeling that nothing was too much bother. The view from our huge room was spectacular - we found ourselves standing at the large picture window everynight just gazing out at the equisite harbour. Can't fault one single thing, and we have stayed at a lot of Hotels to compare it with..
Location, Location
I spend 3 months a year at this hotel - apart from the fact that it has all the usual features, the location is the best. The area is like a village almost with every thing one wants, AND there are NO tourists and the associated hustlers.
Plus its 10 minutes to TST and the Star Ferry to Central is 5 Minutes walk.
Great place
i go to harbour plaza hong kong's chinese cusine for atleast once per week and i stayed there with a friend earlier on. it is one of the new hotels in the area, but it is very convienent. it only take 1 10 mins ride to the airport express station. also, they provide long term service residents there if u are staying for a longer peirod. harbour plaza ia right next to the hong kong hung hom's sports hall where they have concerts and everything. going to tsim sha tsui will only take a 5 min mini bus ride or kcr ride. going to causeway bay is even better cause its beside a bus terminal and there u can find buses going to cwb in 10 - 15 mins. it's a great hotel
Great Hotel
We booked a harbour view room for a very reasonable price on the internet.
The room we got was a corner room on the 21st floor, so had views over the port and sea on one side and the harbour on the other - it was a fantastic sight to wake up to!
The service was excellent and the room was large (more of a small suite than a room!).
The food was excellent in all of the restaurants we tried (there are many, I think we tried all except the Harbour Grill).
The hotel is a little out of the way, but they offer a free shuttle bus to Tsim Sha Tsui and taxis are very cheap and readily avaiable.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Harbour Plaza again.
Hard to fault
When I first saw this hotel, my first thoughts were WOW what great views of the Harbour, especially so as we checked in at night and it was truly spectaculor. The lobby was well decorated with an enormous Xmas tree also, and generally the presentation was fantastic.
The rooms were spacious, and of the standard expected of such a hotel. I loved the glass door walk-in shower, along with the bath. We had a room with a view of the Harbour, it was breathtaking on the first morning, watching the ships sail past our window.
The service was also excellent, with requests quickly attended to with efficiency and politeness. The one criticism I would have is that the location isn't that great compared to others I could mention (e.g. Royal Plaza) with the nearest KCR train station quite a way away, so we had to use taxis on a number of occasions.
Fantastic View
We had a harbour view room which has an amazing view of the harbour. The room was huge and luxurious (king size bed, sofa & desk) with an equally large bathroom. It had a TV, mini-bar, hairdryer and a safe. The hotel also has roof top pool that overlooks the harbour and has a glass-sided pool. This hotel is a bit out of the way but well worth it. There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the centre of Kowloon. The star ferry terminal at Hung Hom to Hong Kong Island is 2mins walk away.
Very bad customer assistance, problems not solved.
I've book on the Internet an executive room in club floor with harbour view: very expensive accomodation.
- Room is very small, not possible to stay there in 3 persons.
- The extra bed, that i've pay very much is ridiculous, not good sleep there for 4 nights.
- The electric plant did'nt work, i've call assistance 8-10 times in 4 days.
- The harbour view is on the port, not on the Hong Kong skiline and Victoria's Peak.
The customer assistance was comic, some gifts that sounds like an offence, and a ridiculous purpose of discount, that i've refused.
No way: 5 star hotel, 5 star prices, 2 star assistance, 1 star answer, 0 stars problem solving.
Fantastic
Fantastic hotel. Don't let the fact that people say it's a bit out of the way stop you. There are free shuttle buses from the hotel to the centre of Kowloon, and the Hung Hom star ferry to Hong Kong Island is 2 mins walk.
Get a harbour view room if you can as it is a spectauclar view, and the roof top pool overlooks the harbour too!. I would definitely go back.

The elevated life in Hong Kong.
Our visit to Hong Kong wasn't full of highlights like Koh Samui, Singapore or Siem Reap but it was a fitting end to our fantastic holiday through South East Asia. We where winding down and taking in the sights and scenery at a slow and steady pace.
Our first two nights where at the dubious but well located Kimberley Hotel. It gave us great …
Hot and Humid Hong Kong
After an over night in HCMC because we had sort of messed up our flights, we arrived in Hong Kong, city of bright lights and perhaps more rice & noodles. I think this might have been the first time we have used public transport from the airport to our accommodation, perhaps because it was so easy, you take your luggage trolley directly to the …
