We had a great time relaxing at Fort Pickens. Nita went for a nice long bicycle ride along the coast. She was flying - until it was time to turn around. Suddenly the truth dawned - she was flying because the wind was helping. The return trip was against the wind!

Seven years ago when we were here, we had put a Walmart location into our GPS to do some shopping. This was at a place called "Pass Christian", when we got to the point that Walmart was supposed to be located all we found was a cement slab Katrina had wiped out the building and most of the coastline including the boardwalk that followed the beach. Houses near the water had been devastated.

So much re-building work has happened ...

... everything we saw - the white sandy beaches and the wooden clad bars. Each day was fun packed starting with a morning workout in their garage, courtesy of Heather who put us through our paces with exercises that we hadn't been accustomed to for a while. This routine was a good addition as we ate a lot of fried food and drank a lot of beer during our stay so it kept us alive!

Very close to being guilty again of staying inside our amazing apartment all day but instead hungry for some oysters, we headed out for some grub. It was difficult to pick a restaurant because all the online reviews for most restaurants were all so average - there doesn't seem to be a great go too restaurant here, so I tried to pick the best of an average few.
