... and weren't prepared for the fumes. We had set up our small fan as an exhaust plan out a side window and the roof fan going but when Terry opened it we had to run for the door. Terry took the brunt and it took him awhile to recover. We used the outside fan to prop open the refrigerator door and left to go to the store to pick up a few items (we now have to buy smaller amounts especially lettuce).

... adding knots to our boat speed. This would help us make miles but the long push up Adams Creek with the tide in our face would soon prove to be a tortuously slow effort. ... south to Florida after all. This boat and I did well...& the captain admitted Maggie adapted well. Rhiannon, draws a lot of attention as she is a classic. For 2 passengers, very comfortable. Highway 70 south brought me past the Croatan National Forest to the coastal towns of Morehead City and Beaufort, both on the Intercoastal Waterway, protected from the Atlantic by a series of islands and peninsulas. Beaufort is the 3rd oldest city in North Carolina and is full of beautiful old houses with porches and widow's walks. ... had a delicious Banh Mi sandwich with garlic fries and a side of mustard greens. I also had a Dark Flite beer sampler - four samples of stout beers. All were good. Ruth had a hard cider which she said was unusually good. VJ then drove us over to their daughter Kendra's house who graciously offered to put us up during our stay.
